“When you start creating for and in honor of those that have made a difference to you, your work changes.”
In the last couple years I have started setting intention for my day … each day … even before I get out of bed.
I often dedicate my yoga practice to people I love or who are in need or to gratitude.
And I hope that my actions … even those that may be inconsequential and unobserved … are an example of my beliefs.
But it never crossed my mind to dedicate my work activities with the dedication as a writer would dedicate the product of his or her writing. For me, it always appeared to be about producing results and I grounded my work in that intention. While on a phone call in a conference room at my first “real job” my oldest brother Bob said “You’ll be successful if you always exceed your bosses, customers and employees expectations.” That did it…results, achievement, recognition. Bob’s guidance has served me well…but Seth’s advice will guide me and serve the many others I touch while I work and live in the next 50 years of my life.
Thanks Seth —
